Rice Prices Today, December 19: Flat Market, Quiet Trading
Post Date: 19/12/2025Rice prices in the Mekong Delta on December 19 remained stable. While fresh paddy prices leveled off due to limited supply, the export price of 5% broken rice held steady at USD 420–440 per ton.
The rice market in the Mekong Delta on December 19 recorded a broadly flat trend. According to data from the An Giang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Vietnam Rice information system, new transactions were limited, reflecting a wait-and-see sentiment among traders as the remaining end-of-season paddy supply remained scarce.

Prices of Raw and Finished Rice Remain Stable

-
Common rice: VND 11,500–12,000/kg.
-
Fragrant rice (Jasmine, Huong Lai, Nang Hoa): Prices remained stable as domestic consumption demand stayed at a moderate level.
Fresh Paddy Market Slows Down
In key localities such as An Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho, and Vinh Long, fresh paddy prices were almost unchanged. Limited remaining paddy supply among farmers resulted in subdued trading activity across the fields.
| Paddy Type | Price (VND/kg) |
|---|---|
| OM18 and DT8 | 6.400 – 6.600 |
| OM 5451 | 5.500 – 5.600 |
| IR 50404 | 5.300 – 5.400 |
Export rice prices maintain stability
On the global market, Vietnamese rice continues to move sideways. Importing partners are currently in an observation phase, monitoring the progress of Vietnam’s upcoming harvest before making new purchasing decisions.
-
5% broken rice: 420 – 440 USD/ton
-
100% broken rice: 314 – 318 USD/ton
-
Jasmine rice: 447 – 451 USD/ton
According to analysts, the market is waiting for clearer signals from international import demand as well as supply developments when localities enter the peak of the next harvest season.
