Dai Thom 8 was researched and bred from a hybrid combination between the mother variety BVN and the father variety OM 4900 (BVN/OM4900). After 4 years and 8 crops, the collective authors of SSC successfully selected and created the CT286 -17-1-1-1 line. After being purified, this line was coded and named Dai Thom 8.
In particular, the rice characteristics meet export standards such as long, clear, non-white rice grains, amylose content of 16.29%, very eye-catching. The rice is sticky, delicious, has a light aroma, and is especially sticky when cold.
